Flower walk

Join André Vermeulen, chairman of the Friends of Bracken Nature Reserve and environmental educator at the Centre for Conservation Education, for an educational and nature bound walk through Bracken Nature Reserve on 5 September 2026 at 9:00.
Walk will be more of less 1 and a half hours. Bring a hat, comfortable shoes and water.

Experience the colourful side of this natural garden and observe the variety of flowers and animals that depend on them.

 

SPRING DAY FESTIVAL

As spring approaches, the Friends of Bracken is getting ready for our biggest event of the year! Join us on Saturday, 12 September 2026, at Bracken Nature Reserve for our annual Spring Day Festival. Gates open at 07:00 until 13:00.
Expect exciting activities for the whole family, including guided nature walks, rock painting and a 5 km fun run. There will be a selection of food vendors and craft stalls. A highlight of the day will be the firing of our historic cannon. This year, the honour of firing the cannon goes to Alderman Grant Twigg, alongside the winner of the fun run and the person with the best spring outfit! You even have a chance to win a prize during a lucky draw!
