Become a member of the Friends of Bracken Nature Reserve in order to support local conservation efforts. Contributions received are needed for the upkeep of the reserve and used to enhance the visitor’s experience.

Membership fees

Members pay an annual fee that applies from January to December. Three options in membership are available: individual (one person), family (max. 5 people) and a discount is given to pensioners and students. Members get after hours entry to the nature reserve.

  • Individuals: R60
  • Family: R100
  • Pensioners/students: R50


hours for Members

  • May to August: 06H00 – 18H00
  • September to April: 06H00 – 19H00
    (Normal hours: 07H30 – 16H00)

As a member, you will receive:

  • A Friends of Bracken (FoB) calendar
  • A FoB pen
  • Regular updates on activities and events at Bracken
  • Access to the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
  • Access to all walks and talks
  • Entry to Perdekop Nature Reserve (on request)
