Who we are

The Friends of Bracken Nature Reserve (FoB) is a not-profit, community-based organisation that is affiliated with the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa (WESSA). The FoB aims to promote local environmental interests. Its focus is to assist local authorities with the conservation of our unique biodiversity, especially the much-threatened Swartland Granite Renosterveld and Cape Flats Sand Fynbos, through creating public awareness, providing environmental education and assisting with efforts to eradicate alien invasive species. Anyone who endorses the objectives and constitution of the FoB is welcome to join the Friends and become a member of the reserve. For regular photos and updates of the reserve, please visit the Friends of Bracken Facebook page.
